No matter how well-intentioned, our outside-in perspectives don\u2019t always match the reality of what\u2019s a priority, most impactful or even beneficial\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your personal four-Ts\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The next step on your personal philanthropic journey is to consider all of your philanthropic resources, beyond just the financial ones.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Time:<\/strong> \u201cGiving time is just as important as giving money\u201d \u2026 there\u2019s no shortage of tasks that need volunteers, such as shopping for those in a risk group.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Talent:<\/strong> Your combination of talent is unique to you. \u2026it pays to cast the <em>(skills)<\/em> net much wider.<br \/>\n\u2013 guest entertainers<br \/>\n\u2013 meals trains<br \/>\n\u2013 mentorship seek diverse &amp; knowledgeable mentors.<br \/>\n\u2013 gift treats to socially isolated neighbours<br \/>\n\u2013 musicians could host a fundraiser, and<br \/>\n\u2013 older kids could pass on skills they\u2019ve mastered<\/li>\n<li><strong>Treasure:<\/strong> \u2026 It\u2019s about maximising the positive impact of what you can afford to spend, even if that\u2019s simply aligning existing outflows with your cause, such as shopping small or local. \u2026<strong>think broadly<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ties:<\/strong>\u00a0\u2026screening your personal network of family, sports teammates, friends and work colleagues to see who you can join forces with.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u2026it pays to be as clear and structured as possible.<br \/>\nKnow your goals, your personal focus and giving strategy, and check your actions are both impactful and positive.<br \/>\n\u2026be as well-versed as possible on how to find the right partner or charity organisation, the pros and cons of local versus global engagement, how to effectively measure your impact and any tax implications\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve worked through these steps, it becomes clear that <strong>we\u2019ve all got something to give<\/strong>, no matter our age or financial situation. The ability <strong>to turn your time, talent, treasures and ties into a positive impact for others is empowering<\/strong>.
