Many people think that I like Apple because of the \u00abstatus\u00bb that some people attribute to this brand users.
\nOthers think it is because the devices are beautiful.
\nOthers because they think that I am not quite technical and I need a \u00absimple\u00bb interface.
\nAnd others may believe that I am trapped in the \u00abecosystem\u00bb and cannot leave.<\/p>\n

The truth is that the latter could have some reason with the \u00abtrapped\u00bb, but not with I can not leave. It’s not that I can’t, it’s that I don’t want to.
\nI really would like the products of the bitten apple to be somewhat cheaper, but for the moment it is worth the extra cost for the satisfaction I get in return.<\/p>\n

I have always liked management. Well, always … for more than 30 years.
\nFrom that point of view, the good management, the truth is that Apple is a role model. What Apple did from April 1976 to December 1980 when it went public is what I would call good management.<\/p>\n

The other stage in which I think Apple was well managed was since 1996\/1997 , when Steve Jobs returned to an Apple almost wounded to death … almost. The rest is recent history.<\/p>\n

Surely there is a twilight in the bright future of the company. Or maybe not. It seems logical, but more than 20 years of continued success do not let to see the clouds.<\/p>\n

The truth is that Jobs was already, long before returning to Apple, giving lectures in business schools, as he did this one at MIT Sloan<\/a>.
\nSo he had to know how to manage and it seems that during his time outside Apple he grew as a person…<\/p>\n

So what I like about Apple is how they have been able to be born, grow, suffer, rebirth and manage since then all aspects of management with great mastery:
\n– millimetrically designed processes
\n– beautifully managed complex supply chain
\n– a giant that generates many jobs \u2013beyond its owen employees\u2013
\n– with many regulations, adjusted to global internationalization
\n– with much scrutiny from themselves and from strangers
\n– with mountains of money to be wisely managed
\n– with shareholders expectations to meet, each with slightly different interests
\n– the environmental impact
\n– the integration of diversity in the workforce
\n– protection of its users privacy
\n– concern for the education market<\/p>\n

… I think it has a lot of merits what Apple managers do. That’s what I love about Apple, what I really admire is how well it is managed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I return to Jobs momentarily … in recent times there is talk that good management is not such if it does not meet the company’s values. Steve Jobs already said something about it in 1997, at Apple’s internal meeting where he presented the Think Different campaign<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is clear that values can also be used as marketing, especially when you document and audit them, but it would be silly not to do so.
\nValues are the benefit and represent the commitment of a company, not only with Corporate Social Responsibility, but with society.<\/p>\n

So that’s why I like Apple, the company, much more than its products.<\/strong>
\nIt may seem a bit odd, but I have joined these ideas because when I am accused of \u00abapple fanboy\u00bb I always try to say no, sometimes they do things wrong (butterfly keyboard?), but generally speaking I can only have words of admiration given their management. And I share its main value \u00abApple’s core value is they believe that people with passion can change the world for the better\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Mucha gente piensa que me gusta Apple por el \u00abstatus\u00bb que algunas personas atribuyen a los usuarios de la marca.
\nOtras piensan que es porque los dispositivos son bonitos.
\nOtras porque piensan que no soy bastante t\u00e9cnico y necesito un interfaz \u00absencillo\u00bb.
\nY otras puede que crean que estoy atrapado en el \u00abecosistema\u00bb y no puedo salir.<\/p>\n

La verdad es que estas \u00faltimas podr\u00edan tener algo de raz\u00f3n con el \u00abatrapado\u00bb, pero no en que no puedo salir. No es que no pueda, es que no quiero.
\nDe verdad que me gustar\u00eda que los productos de la manzana mordida fueran algo m\u00e1s baratos, pero de momento valga el sobrecoste por la satisfacci\u00f3n de lo que recibo a cambio.<\/p>\n

Desde siempre me ha gustado la gesti\u00f3n. Bueno desde siempre\u2026 desde hace m\u00e1s de 30 a\u00f1os.
\nDesde ese punto de vista, desde el de la buena gesti\u00f3n, la verdad es que Apple es un modelo a seguir. Lo que hizo Apple desde Abril de 1976 hasta diciembre de 1980 en que sali\u00f3 a bolsa es lo que yo llamar\u00eda una buena gesti\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La otra etapa en la que creo que Apple estuvo bien gestionada fue a partir de 1996\/1997, cuando Steve Jobs regres\u00f3 a una Apple herida casi de muerte\u2026 casi. El resto es historia reciente.<\/p>\n

Seguro que hay un ocaso en el brillante futuro de la compa\u00f1\u00eda. O tal vez no. Parece lo l\u00f3gico, pero m\u00e1s de 20 a\u00f1os de \u00e9xito continuado no dejan ver las nubes.<\/p>\n

La verdad es que Jobs ya estuvo bastante antes de volver a Apple dando conferencias en escuelas de negocios, como \u00e9sta en MIT Sloan<\/a>.
\nAs\u00ed que deb\u00eda saber gestionar y parece que durante su etapa fuera de Apple creci\u00f3 como persona\u2026<\/p>\n

As\u00ed que lo que me gusta de Apple es como han sido capaces de nacer, crecer, sufrir, resurgir y manejar desde entonces todos los aspectos de la gesti\u00f3n con gran maestr\u00eda:
\n\u2013 procesos milim\u00e9tricamente dise\u00f1ados
\n\u2013 cadena de suministro complej\u00edsima maravillosamente gestionada
\n\u2013 un gigante que genera muchos empleos \u2013m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los propios empleados\u2013
\n\u2013 con muchas regulaciones, ajustadas a la internacionalizaci\u00f3n\u00a0global
\n\u2013 con mucho escrutinio de propios y extra\u00f1os
\n\u2013 con monta\u00f1as de dinero que gestionar sabiamente
\n\u2013 con accionistas a los que satisfacer, cada uno de ellos con intereses ligeramente distintos
\n\u2013 impacto medioambiental
\n\u2013 integraci\u00f3n de la diversidad en la fuerza de trabajo
\n\u2013 protecci\u00f3n de la privacidad de sus usuarios
\n\u2013 preocupaci\u00f3n por el mercado educativo<\/p>\n

\u2026me parece que tiene much\u00edsimo m\u00e9rito lo que hacen los directivos de Apple. Eso es lo que me encanta de Apple, lo que verdaderamente admiro es lo bien que se gestiona.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vuelvo moment\u00e1neamente a Jobs\u2026 en los \u00faltimos tiempos se habla de que la buena gesti\u00f3n no es tal si no atiende a los valores de la compa\u00f1\u00eda. Steve Jobs ya dijo algo al respecto en 1997, en la reuni\u00f3n interna de Apple en que present\u00f3 la campa\u00f1a Think Different<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Est\u00e1 claro que los valores tambi\u00e9n se pueden usar como marketing, sobre todo cuando los documentas y auditas, pero es que ser\u00eda tonto no hacerlo.
\nLos valores son el beneficio y representan el compromiso de una compa\u00f1\u00eda, no s\u00f3lo con la Responsabilidad Social Corporativa, sino con la sociedad.<\/p>\n

As\u00ed que por eso me gusta Apple, la compa\u00f1\u00eda, mucho m\u00e1s que sus productos.<\/strong>
\nPuede parecer un poco raro, pero he unido estas ideas porque cuando se me acuso de \u00abapple fanboy\u00bb siempre intento decir que no, a veces hacen cosas mal (\u00bfteclado mariposa?), pero solo puedo tener palabras de admiraci\u00f3n en general debido a su gesti\u00f3n. Y comparto su principal valor \u00abcree que las personas con pasi\u00f3n pueden cambiar el mundo a mejor\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n
