<\/span> \u00ab\u2026 The first principle is this, that human beings <\/span>are naturally different and diverse.<\/i><\/span>
The second principle that drives human life flourishing <\/span>is curiosity<\/i><\/span>
<\/span>And the third principle is this: <\/span>that human life is inherently creative. <\/span><\/i><\/span>
\u2026<\/i><\/span>
Death Valley is the hottest, driest place in America, <\/span>and nothing grows there. <\/span>Nothing grows there because it doesn’t rain.<\/span>Hence, Death Valley. <\/span>In the winter of 2004, it rained in Death Valley. <\/span>Seven inches of rain fell over a very short period. <\/span>And in the spring of 2005, there was a phenomenon. <\/span>The whole floor of Death Valley was carpeted in flowers <\/span>for a while. <\/span>What it proved is this: that Death Valley isn’t dead. <\/span>It’s dormant. <\/span>Right beneath the surface are these seeds of possibility<\/span>waiting for the right conditions to come about, <\/span>and with organic systems, if the conditions are right, <\/span>life is inevitable.<\/i><\/span>

There’s a wonderful quote from Benjamin Franklin. <\/span>\u00abThere are three sorts of people in the world: <\/span>Those who are immovable, <\/span>people who don’t get, they don’t want to get it, <\/span>they’re going to do anything about it. <\/span>There are people who are movable, <\/span>people who see the need for change <\/span>and are prepared to listen to it. <\/span>And there are people who move, <\/span>people who make things happen.\u00bb <\/span>And if we can encourage more people, <\/span>that will be a movement. <\/span>And if the movement is strong enough, <\/span>that’s, in the best sense of the word, a revolution. <\/span>And that’s what we need.\u2026\u00bb<\/i><\/span>
