{"id":1202,"date":"2017-04-24T06:30:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-24T05:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/silta.es\/juantatay\/2017\/04\/24\/intel-disrupted-by-steve-blank\/"},"modified":"2017-04-24T06:30:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-24T05:30:00","slug":"intel-disrupted-by-steve-blank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/silta.es\/juantatay\/intel-disrupted-by-steve-blank\/","title":{"rendered":"Intel Disrupted (by Steve Blank)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/startup-grind\/intel-disrupted-why-large-companies-find-it-difficult-to-innovate-and-what-they-can-do-about-it-1851e643431b\">Intel Disrupted: Why large companies find it difficult to innovate and what they can do about it<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>First, companies bought into <b>the false premise that they exist to maximize shareholder value\u200a<\/b>\u2014\u200awhich said \u201ckeep the stock price high.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Second, the <b>leaders of these companies tended to be those who excelled at finance, supply chain or production<\/b>.&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Third, the reason why <b>companies find it hard to innovate is the explosive shifts in technology, platforms and markets<\/b> that have occurred in the last 15 years\u2013personal computers moving to mobile devices.&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Fourth, it\u2019s<b> harder for large corporations to offer disruptive breakthroughs<\/b>\u2026&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Startups have realized that <b>large companies <\/b>are vulnerable because of the very things that have made them large and profitable: by <b>focusing on maximizing shareholder return, they\u2019ve jettisoned their ability to do disruptive innovation at speed and scale<\/b>.&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>In contrast, <b>startups operate with speed and urgency, making decisions with incomplete information.
